Friday, 20 Sep 1907 Volume 41, Number 38 Aged Educator Dead Prof. Randall Morton died at the residence of a granddaughter in Pittsburg on Tuesday evening, aged ninety years. Prof. Morton was born in Whateley, Mass., of Revolutionary stock. He received his education it the public schools and at Wilbraham Academy at Massachusetts, from which he graduated at the age of twenty-three. Then he journeyed west and located at Ebensburg, where he obtained the important position of teacher of the first public school in town. A few years later he went to Somerset and taught in the Somerset Academy until 1848. Later he taught in Lawrenceville, Allegheny County. He was connected with the schools of that county for about ten years and then lived a retired life. His widow, still living, is eighty-five years old. A multitude of descendants survive him.
