Thursday, September 3, 1863 Volume 4, Number 49 Killed A boy about 16 years of age named John W. Plotner, son of Henry W. Plotner of Wilmore was so injured on Thursday the 20th at Wilmore, by the cars, that he lived only about three hours. He had been on the platform of a car when as the engine whistled off breaks he attempted to jump off, but falling under the wheels, the cars passed over his back. His remains were taken charge of by his father.
