PRINGLE. Joseph W. Pringle, a highly respected resident of Cambria county, died at his home, near Summerhill, Tuesday night at 10 o'clock, aged almost 72 years. He was a native of Summerhill township and had lived in that vicinity all his life. He was an intelligent and successful farmer and fruit grower and was noted all over the county for his weather observations. For thirty-two years he kept a record of the weather in a book in which he chronicled daily events. Mr. Pringle is survived by his widow, whose maiden name was Ake, and the following sons and daughters: C. A. Pringle, Deliah, wife of A. J. Arnold, and Etta, wife of George Wyan, all of Summerhill; Martin W. Pringle and Elsie, wife of H. L. Wilson, both of Altoona, and Miss Beatrice, at home. Four sisters and two brothers survive, as follows: Mrs. Mary Shaffer, of South Fork; Mrs. Susan Weaver, of Illinois; Miss Sadie Pringle and Mrs. Elizabeth Cover, both of the South Side, Johnstown; Emanuel, of Summerhill, and Abraham W. Pringle, of Wilmore. Mr. Pringle was a veteran of the civil war, having been a member of the Fifth heavy artillery, and since the war he had been prominently identified with Grand Army of the Republic work. He was a member of the United Brethren church. The funeral will take place this afternoon.
