All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/cambria/ ________________________________________________ Archie Claar Obituary Collection volume 3 page A-2 1935 ELIAS YEATER A former watchman at the Gallitzin tunnel and an employee of the Pennsylvania railroad for twenty-five years and a resident of Jeannette, where he was transferred three or four years ago, was killed on the Pennsylvania railroad near Jeannette early Wednesday morning, the body being found about 7 o'clock. He was evidently struck by a fast passenger train. Mr. Yeater lost an arm in an accident twenty-four years ago while a resident of Gallitzin. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie Yeater, and the following brothers and sisters: Treaty S. Yeater and Charles Yeater, both of Altoona, Mrs. John Watt, Mrs. Sadie Stong and Percy Yeater, all of Juniata county. Funeral services were conducted at the Yeater home at 10.30 o'clock this morning, after which the body was removed to the Christian and Missionary Alliance church at Portage, where obsequies were conducted at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. A. N. Salvie. Burial was made in Prospect cemetery, Portage.
