She worked in the late teens and early 20's as a weaver at the silk mill. Husband Allen Saml. Mertz, son of Samuel and Martha L Mertz, born 24 Apr 1897 in Mahoning Twp. and died 19 Aug 1976, probably in Allentown. He is buried in Lehighton Cemetery. He was a clerk at the zinc mill, in 1920, and rose to become a banker at the national bank by 1940. His second and surviving wife was Ruth C Geisel. Samuel and Allen had adjoining houses at 128 & 126 South Seventh Street, respectively, for at least 20 years. I do not know the death date of Hannah Heffner Mertz.
