Crompton, 248 Swedesford Road, Malvern has been promoted to the position of Principal engineer in the electrical engineering division of the Franklin Institute Research laboratories, Philadelphia. A specialist in optics, communications and instrumentation, Crompton joined the institute’s research staff in 1964. Previously, he supervised electro-optics work at the Philco Advanced Technology Center in Blue Bell. At the institute, Crompton has performed studies for the Navy on optics and infrared detection, and is currently directing an Air Force sponsored program in non-resolving optics.
