Members of the Grand Army of the Republic and Knights of the Golden Eagle were present. Davis Smedley’s death occurred at the home of his son Dr. Charles D. Smedley, Wayne. He was born in Uwchlan, belonging to the Society of Friends, but during the Rebellion he enlisted in the 203d Pennsylvania Volunteers and served therein until the end of the war. A widow, a son and a daughter survive.
