Molson JLMolson@aol.com January 10, 2005, 2:35 am The Sun, morning edition, Baltimore, Md. 31 Jan 1951 ELVIRA (MOLSON) BOND (1891 - 1951) Mrs. Elvira M. Bond Funeral services for Mrs. Elvira M. Bond, who has been an active leader in Negro educational and religious work for a number of years, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Sharp Street Memorial Church. Born in Loch Haven, Pa., on November 3, 1891, the daughter of Edward B. and Elizabeth Catherine Molson, Mrs. Bond moved to Baltimore at the age of 4 to live with her aunt, Mrs. Melissa Minor. Mrs. Bond was educated in the local public schools, the Colored High School, now Douglass High School and Temple University from which she was graduated with a B.S. degree in domestic science. For a few months she taught at the St. Clair High School, Cambridge, Md. and then returned to Baltimore where she instructed in the public schools for ten years. Mrs. Bond died Monday at her home, 1517 Druid Hill avenue. An active participant in civic affairs, Mrs. Bond served as a member of the Republican City and State committees. She is survived by her husband, Roy S. Bond, Baltimore attorney, and a brother, John Irvin Molson. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Westport.
