D. H. C. Bridgers was born September 2, 1885, in Northampton County, N. C., the son of Alvin S. and Mary E. (Coggings) Bridgers. He received a high school education and then studied medicine, graduating M. D. in 1915 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. After graduation Dr. Bridgers took special post-graduate work for eight months in diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat at Johns Hopkins Hospital and at the University of Maryland Hospital, after which he had one year of special work with Dr. V. F. Cullom in diseases of the chest. Dr. Bridgers registered in Franklin County in 1918 and since then has practiced medicine at Blue Ridge Summit. He has been a member of the Medical Society from 1919. Dr. Bridgers married in 1916, Miss Elizabeth Nordt of Baltimore, Md.
