D. Alexander Stewart was born in 1891 in Shippensburg, a son of George H. and Ella (Snodgrass) Stewart and a grandson of Dr. Alexander Stewart, who began the practice of medicine in Shippensburg in 1831 and for more than fifty years was one of the leading physicians of the town. Dr. Stewart was educated in the schools of his native town and at Mercersburg Academy. After the usual course of study he was graduated M. D. in 1919 from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Stewart registered in Franklin County in 1920 and has practiced medicine since graduation in Shippensburg. He is a member of the Medical Society and of the Chambersburg Hospital Staff. Dr. Stewart specializes in Roentgenology and has his offices well equipped for this work. He also operates the X-Ray laboratory of the Chambersburg Hospital. Dr. Stewart married in 1920, Dorothea R.
