THE REV. W. H. SHEARER

The Rev. W. H. Washinger, superintendent of the Pennsylvania conference of the 
United Brethren church has received word of the death of the Rev. W. H. Shearer, 
of Shermansdale, Perry county.

The Rev. Shearer, who was for many years a prominent minister of the United 
Brethren church, began his pastorate in Franklin county having served 
congregations in Orretown and Upper Strasburg.  His last visit to this vicinity 
was when the last session of the Mount Zion camp meeting took place near 
Orretown.

He was an able minister but because of rheumatic troubles was compelled to give 
up active work.  He was a member of the Pennsylvania conference.
