She had been in failing health for 5 years and was a resident of Quincy United Methodist home since March. She was admitted to the hospital Friday after suffering a stroke. Mrs. Shockey was born in Beartown, Oct 22, 1893, a daughter of the late John and Tobitha I. Patterson Emory. All her life was lived in Beartown. Her husband Elmer H. Shockey died in September 1974. Mrs Shockey was a member of Calvary Episcopal Chapel. She is survived by these children. Christian Shockey of Lantz MD; Richard S. Shockey Sr., Mrs. Mary Malles, Mrs. Frances Hampton and Mrs. Paul Price all of Waynesboro RD5 and Mrs. Theodore Pryor, Waynesboro Also surviving are 27 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Thomas Bowers, Waynesboro, and 3 brothers, Edward Emory, and John Emory both of RD5 Waynesboro and Everett Emory of Gettysburg. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Grove Funeral Home with the Reverend Edward Messersmith officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Chapel Cemetery. Paper dated Jul 17, 1978
