Monday, February 9, 1953; p7. Oliver L. Ewing of West Township (Petersburg R.D.) died at his home on Sunday evening, Feb. 8, 1953, at 7:25 o’clock, following an illness of three weeks. He was born January 16, 1860 at Charter Oak. His wife, the former Catherine Rudy, preceded him in death on October 2, 1952. By occupation he was a jeweler and watch repairman. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Annie Sager and Mrs. Mabel Hoffer, both of Globe Run (Petersburg R.D.); Mrs. Flora Okinsky, of Philadelphia; Oliver Ewing, of Jerome, Pa.; Russell Ewing of Altoona; Mrs. Isabelle Rinker, of Mount Union; Mrs. Hazel Pottle, of New Orleans, La., and George Ewing, of Alexandria. Thirty-three grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren also survive. One daughter, Mrs. Tilitha Keim, is deceased. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Funeral services will be held at the late home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. Oran Catterson of Mount Union, officiating. Interment will be made in the Mooresville Cemetery, directed by Grove’s funeral service. Friends may call at the Ewing home after noon on Tuesday.
