Holder, retired engine man of the Middle division, Pennsylvania railroad, died at the home of his son, John R. Holder, 1118 Moore street, Huntingdon, on Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 1940, from an attack of cerebral apoplexy. Robert M. Holder was a son of John and Martha Holder and was born at Colerain, Aug. 10, 1852; hence he was aged at the time of death, 87 years and 5 months. His wife, Florence (McCracken) Holder, preceded him in death in 1921. Mr. Holder was a member of the West Shore Free and Accepted Masons lodge of Camp Hill, Pa., for quite a number of years, having spent a greater part of the time after his retirement in 1918, with his daughters, Mrs. T. C. Greene, of Camp Hill, and Mrs. W. G. Sweger, of Lemoyne. He was a consistent member of the Methodist church having identified himself with the Fifteenth Street Methodist church in Huntingdon, fifty years ago and until the last conscious moment rejoiced in and held to the faith that assured him of a happy and eternal future. To the ones of the older school with whom he had been associated, he will be remembered as a true gentleman, faithful to his employer and his fellow employees as well. He is survived by the following, sons and daughters: Mrs. M. J. Zimmerman, of Huntingdon; Mrs T. C. Greene, of Camp Hill, Pa. Mrs. W. G. Sweger, of Lemoyne, Pa.; John R. Holder and Willian B. Holder, of Huntingdon, and Mrs. J. M. Mumma, of Harrisburg. Services will be conducted at the Dick funeral home in Huntingdon at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, in charge of his pastor, Rev. George F. Boggs. Interment will be made in Riverview cemetery.
