Patterson, 91, of Dudley, went to be with her Lord Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. Born Feb. 19, 1921, in Trough Creek Valley, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Verna (Pheasant) Buckley. She was united in marriage to James C. Patterson. Mr. Patterson preceded her in death March 1, 1975. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her three children, Barbara A. Putt and her husband, Jack, of Saxton, Kenneth E. Patterson and his wife, Nora E. (O’Neal), of Dudley and Richard L. Patterson and his wife, Patricia (Hurd), of Indiana, Pa.; five grandchildren, Rhonda Ewick, Vanessa McCall, Kenneth Patterson II, Hugh D. Patterson and Blair C. Patterson; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister in-law, Flora Moorhead, and brother-in-law, Gilbert Patterson of Mechanicsburg. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her siblings, Marjorie Foster, Auwilda Patterson, Hubert Buckley and Donald Buckley. She was also preceded in death by her brother in-law, Duane Patterson. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Coalmont United Methodist Church. She was also active in Coalmont United Methodist Quilting Society. She was a member of the Saxton Chapter No. 161 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Patterson was a homemaker most of her life, working a brief time at Quality Manufacturing, Saxton, and the Elco Corp. in Huntingdon for nine years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, quilting and family gettogethers. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church St., Saxton, with the Rev. Barbara Berg and the Rev. Kenneth Patterson II officiating. Interment will be in Dudley Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends may be received from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the Akers Funeral Chapel. The Saxton Chapter No. 161 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Patterson to the Coalmont United Methodist Church or the Coalmont United Methodist Quilting Society, 2428 Hickory Hill Road, Saxton, PA 16678.
