Petron, 55, of PO Box 273, Juniata Avenue, Allenport, Mount Union, died unexpectedly at 2:55 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2002, at her home. The funeral service was conducted April 8 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Rev. Chris Heinlein and Rev. Elam Gliek officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Dublin Township, Huntingdon County. Born on May 1, 1946, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of Leroy Arnold, who preceded her in death, and Thelma (Jaymes) Arnold, who survives at her home in Mount Union. She was united in marriage to Andrew "Andy" Petron on Jan. 21, 1962, in Mount Union. He preceded her in death on July 22,1992. Surviving are her loving companion, Edward Zeigler, who resided with her, and her three children: Michael A. Petron of Mount Union, Tammy J. Petron of RD2 Allenport, Mount Union and Patricia J. Mills of Kistler. Also surviving are four grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Paul (Darlene) Cox of Kistler and Ann Meloni of Mount Union. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sharon Ann Arnold, and a brother, Terry Lee Arnold. Mrs. Petron attended the Mount Union school. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, especially making lap robes for different charitable causes, including crocheting ones for the Shirley Home for the Aged. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, Pa., April 10, 2002
