A daughter of John Philip and Effie (Chilcoat) Bonsell, she was born Dec. 30, 1902, in Spruce Creek. She was united in marriage to Earl A. Smith, who preceded her in death on April 7,1969. She is survived by five children, Harold W. Hildebrand, Mrs. Robert A. Boyer, Mrs. Ralph B. Lehman and Mrs. John B. Borsa, all of York, and Mrs. William Erb of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Bonsell of Lewisbury and William Bonsell of Spruce Creek; and Dorothy Woodring of York. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of York and of the American Association of Retired Persons. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from the John Calvin Memorial Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church of York, the Reverend Dr. Lerold W. Chase officiating. Interment will be made in Mount Rose Cemetery, York. Friends will be received at the Everhart Funeral Home, 1337 E. Market Street, York from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
