Lawrence H. Bergman, 85, 37 West Burrell St., Blairsville, died Tuesday, March
30, 1971, at Scenery Hill Manor, Indiana. Born in Social Hall, Westmoreland
County, Dec. 24, 1885, he was a son of Frederick and Laura Harding Bergman. He
was a retired fireman and engineer of the Pennsylvania Railroad and was a member
of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers. Surviving are two sons:
Lawrence Dean, Indiana; Byron W.. New Bethlehem; four grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Forsha Bergman, in May of 1966. The
family will receive friends at the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, this
evening from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be
held Friday at 11 a.m. at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Blairsville, with
the Rev. David St. Clair and the Rev. Arthur Dilg officiating. Interment will be
made in the Blairsville Cemetery.
