Latrobe Bulletin Tue May 31 1949
George Eugene McCombs, 32, died suddenly at his home, 403 East Market Street,
Blairsville, today at 12:30 am. He was born in Blairsville May 25,  1917 and was
the son of John P. McCombs and Nellie Carney McCombs. He is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Viola Libengood McCombs and two daughters, Bonne and Mildred, both at
home. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. McCombs of
Blairsville; two brothers, John P. and Charles C. McCombs, both of Blairsville;
and one sister, Mrs. Martha Holmquist, of New Sweden, Maine. He was employed at
the Kennametal, Inc. as an estimator. He was a member of I. O. O. F. Order No.
436 of Blairsville, and the Blairsville Sportsmen's Assn. He was also a member
of the First Presbyterian Church, of Blairsville. Friends will be received at
the Hunter Funeral Home, Blairsville, where funeral services will be held
Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Joseph G. Stuart, D. D. pastor officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
