    Zelda Pierce
 Zelda Z. Deyarmin Pierce, 79,
formerly of Cherry Tree RD 2, died
Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Pavelko's
Personal Care Home, Cherry Tree
RD 2.
 The daughter of Mary (Mollie)
Deyarmin, she was born April 5,
1918, in Montgomery Township, Indi-
ana County, Pa.
 Mrs. Pierce married J. Alvin
Pierce on Aug. 31, 1932, and they
raised eight children. She was a
member of the East Ridge United
Methodist Church, Westover RD 1.
 Surviving are these children: Mrs.
Catherine Gregori and Mrs. Isabell
Laney, both of Cherry Tree RD 2;
Mrs. Earl (Pauline) Meese, Barnes-
boro; Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy)
Stiles, Ralph Pierce and Mrs. Ru-
dolph (Julia) Meese, all of Cherry
Tree RD 2; 15 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren and two great-
great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her
husband on June 18, 1972; her moth-
er; two sons, Samuel and Alvin; and
one sister, Avonell Walker.
 Friends will be received from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Albert E.
Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale,
where a funeral service will be held
at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, with
the Rev. Thomas W. Repine officiat-
ing. Interment will follow in East
Ridge Cemetery, Westover RD 1.
