F. V. Smith, a prominent citizen of Young township, near Parkwood, died Saturday
evening, March 1, at 6:15 o'clock, aged 45 years. Death was due to Bright's
disease. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Annie Campbell Smith, and four children: Owen,
of Philippi, W. Va., and Quade, Ralph and Miss Helen, at home; also, his mother,
Mrs. Sarah Smith, aged 80 years. The deceased was a cousin of R. M. Smith, of
Church street, this place. The funeral services were held at the Smith home
Tuesday afternoon, by the Rev E. L. Ralston, of DuBois, former pastor of the
West Union United Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the West Union
church graveyard.
