Watson A paper from Beloit, Wis., contained the following marked copy: “A letter from George Watson announces the death of his father, Elias M. Watson, formerly of this city, which occurred on Saturday night 12-29-1900, at Omaha. The remains will be brought to this city for burial on Jan. 2.” Elias M. Watson was a former resident of Drumore township, and was the third-son of Morris and Anna Watson, of the Unicorn. We [He] was well and favorably known here for many years, and helped to fill the quota for Uncle Sam’s army three times—the last time he joined a Maryland Light Artillery and was sent to the defenses of Washington where he remained until the close of the war. After the war was over, he married Miss Ruth A. Drennen and then removed with his family to the west in 1869, and in 1873, he settled in Beloit, Wis. In 1874, Mr. Watson lost his wife, but later he married a western lady who still survives him, also four children, three to the first and one to the second wife. Mr. Watson was 60 years of age.
