  Douple, Rufus W.    
   
   
  RUFUS W. DOUPLE EPHRATA Rufus W. Douple, formerly of Ephrata passed away on 
  Tuesday at Brethren Village. He was 91 years old. Born in Myerstown, he was the 
  son of the late Jacob and Sally (Gibble) Douple and the husband of the late 
  Ruth (Royer) Douple. Rufus graduated from Myerstown High School and attended 
  Elizabethtown College, graduating in 1942. He retired in 1980 from the business 
  he founded, the Douple Agency in Ephrata. He had also worked for the York 
  Corporation, E.T. Line, Denver, and Ephrata Telephone Co. and the Ephrata 
  Review in accounting. Rufus was a member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren. 
  Surviving are a daughter, Martha, wife of Dennis Shaak, Schaefferstown; a son, 
  Kent, husband of Sarah Eby, Ephrata; two granddaughters, Rachel and Beth; a 
  grandson, Steven; and a great-grandson, Joshua. Additional survivors include a 
  brother, Stanley Douple; and two sisters, Mae McCaskey and Jean Matthew. Rufus 
  was predeceased by three sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend 
  the funeral on Friday at 10 a.m. Viewing 9-10 a.m. in the chapel at Brethren 
  Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606-5093. Interment in Fairview 
  Cemetery, Denver. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rufus' memory 
  may be made to the Brethren Village Benevolence Fund
