  Gertrude Cooper Bowman, 93, Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, died Sunday, May 24, 
  2009, in the Manor. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Bowman, to whom she 
  was married for 69 years. She was born in Harrisburg on January 27, 1916, 
  daughter of the late David and Sara Cohen Cooper. In her early years of 
  marriage, she assisted her late husband in founding the JS Bowman Co., which 
  later became Bogene Inc. She was past president and regional officer for 
  Hadassah, member of Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, Congregation Beth 
  Israel, the Sisterhood, choreographed many local programs and was an active 
  member of ADL. Surviving are daughter: Diane B. Griffths, Lebanon; son: Thomas 
  and wife Sherry Bowman, Blue Bell; grandchildren: Jill, wife of Stephen Weiss, 
  Pittsburgh; Viki, wife of Jere Zarkin, Harrisburg; Steven Bennett, AZ; Amy, 
  wife of Adam Karas, Boston MA; Jodi, wife of Jacob Susman, NY; 
  greatgrandchildren: Zachary and Jonah Weiss, Pittsburgh; Dell and Isabella 
  Zarkin, Harrisburg; Jason and Daniel Karas, Boston MA; Joela and Tali Susman, 
  NY. Funeral services Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Rohland Funeral 
  Home Inc., 5th & Cumberland St., Lebanon. Interment Beth Israel Cemetery. In 
  lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Joseph S. and Gertrude C. 
  Bowman Film Studies Fund, c/o Beth Israel Synagogue, 8th & Oak streets, Lebanon 
  17042.
