  Diane Roberta Darkes, 64, of Cedar Haven, formerly of 394 Mountville Drive, 
  Lebanon, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at the home. She was born August 1, 1944 to 
  the late Leo Wilson and Vista Elethia Hostetter Darkes in Lebanon. She was a 
  member of Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Northern 
  Lebanon in 1962 and Temple University School of Nursing in 1966. She worked at 
  Temple, Baylor in Dallas,TX, Hershey Medical Center, and VA Hospitals in 
  Dallas, Washington DC and Lebanon. She was very involved in the, American Red 
  Cross during the Cuban Crisis and the TMI Evacuation Center. She also chaired 
  the first HIV Conference in Washington DC. She earned a Brokers License in real 
  estate while working in Washington DC and taught CPR classes for the American, 
  Heart Association. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, entertaining friends and 
  family and loved her cats. Surviving is brother Dale L. spouse of Linda Darkes 
  of Camp Hill; sister Deborah Darkes spouse of Frank Kern of Pine Grove; nephews 
  Jason Frank Kern of Jonestown, Justin spouse of Tommi Kern and daughter Brogan 
  of Martinez, California; niece Erin Kern spouse of Colm Phillips and son Ryan 
  and daughter Saoire of Gorey, Ireland. A number of cousins also survive. She 
  was preceded in death by brother Dean David Darkes. Memorial services will be 
  held on Friday July 17, 2009 at 4:00PM at a family members home. Memorials can 
  be sent to Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church, 560 Freeport Road, Lebanon, PA
