Schrack, 72, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center following an accident which occurred on the family farm on Christmas Village Road, Womelsdorf. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Long) Schrack, to whom he was married 51 years on November 1. Born in Stouchsburg, on May 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Roy D. and Mae M. (Troutman) Schrack. He was a 1955 graduate of Myerstown High School. He had been employed at Bethlehem Steel, Lebanon, for 28 years, retiring in 1984. He had also been employed at American Refractories, Newmanstown, and Post Precision Castings, Inc., Strausstown, for many years. He was a member of St. John's " Host " Church, Bernville; Marion Senior Citizens, 50 Plus Club, Bethel; and the Pennsylfawnisch Deitsch Dialect & Kultur Society. He enjoyed working on the family farm, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Lori A., wife of James L. Kramer of Todd, Pa., and Linda M. Schrack of Wilmington, Del.; son, Dennis R., husband of Brenda L. Schrack of Womelsdorf; grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Kramer, Janell R. Cook, Elizabeth M. Schrack, Andrew G. Schrack, Christopher D. Schrack, and Alexandra N. Schrack; greatgrandsons, Jamie and Jackson Cook; sister, Mary, wife of Donald Bender of Sinking Spring; brother, David husband of Ruth Schrack of Womelsdorf; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am. from St. John's "Host" Church, 36 Host Church Road, Bernville. Viewing Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Berks Food Bank, 1011 Tuckerton Court, Reading, PA 19605. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
