Richard S. Shott, 96 years, of 360 N. First St., Lebanon, died at Spang Crest Manor on Feb. 7, 2009. He was born in Lebanon on Sept. 20, 1912, the son of Charles H and Alice Stark Shott. He was the husband of Edith Smith Shott. A 1930 graduate of Lebanon High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. A retired machinist in the test lab at Lebanon Steel Foundry. He had been the oldest living member of St. John's United Church of Christ E & R, Lebanon. A former member of The North Lebanon Senior Citizens. Survived by a son, Thomas F., husband of Dolores Shott of Annville; a daughter, Eleanor L., wife of Eugene Longenecker of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Morris of Lititz, Elizabeth Tice of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Smith; a son, Richard C. Shott; and eight brothers and sisters. Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's UCC Memorial fund at 931 Willow St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Arrangements by TaylorRuffner Funeral Home Inc., 712 Chestnut St., Lebanon.
