Lillian A. Youse, 93, of 450 E. Lincoln Ave., StoneRidge Village, Myerstown, Pa., died Monday, January 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, Pa. She was the widow of Karl R. Youse, who died July 28, 2001. Born in Myerstown, Pa., on November 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Sallie (Price) Arnold. She was a 1933 graduate of Myerstown High School, and received a B.S. degree in education in 1943 from Elizabethtown College. In 1957, she received a Master of Education degree from Temple University. She had been a second grade school teacher at Myerstown Elementary School, and a speech therapist in the Berks County School District for 34 years. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, Pa., a past president of the Myerstown Junior Women's Club and the Woman's Club of Myerstown, and was a member of the Lebanon County Retired Teachers Association and the Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers Association She is survived by a nephew, Nathan, husband of Marilyn Shaak of Metaire, New Orleans; step-son Richard, husband of Olivia Youse of Tallahassee, Florida; and three step-grandchildren Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. from Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, Pa. Viewing Friday 10 a.m. at the church. Interment at New Union Cemetery, Myerstown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
