Barton, 82, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at her residence. She was the wife of James E. Barton, Jr., who died in 1986. Born in Canton, Ohio, on February 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert H., Sr. and Leetha Pettit Whitmer. Jacqueline was a 1945 graduate from North York High School. She was a member of The Evangelical Free Church of Hershey and was a floor supervisor for Nationwide Insurance Co. for many years until her retirement. Surviving are two sons, Scott A. Barton and wife, Peggy of Hummelstown, and James E. Barton, III and wife, Danise J. DamatoBarton of Indiana; two daughters, Vicki J. Krouse of Germany, and Jane L., wife of John Bashore of Palmyra; a brother, Robert H. Whitmer, Jr. and wife, Beverly of York; a sister, Dodie, wife of Floyd Shelley of Atlanta Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Alyssa Krouse, Adam Krouse and wife, Raeshaundra, Jeremy Bashore and wife, Amy, Lysandra, Matthew, and Anthony Barton, Nathan Barton and wife, Janelle, Jessica, wife of Michel Lusakueno, and Jackie and Julie Barton; and nine greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachael (Bashore) Wise. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Palmyra United Zion Church, 1000 E. Oak St., Palmyra. Inurnment will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Horizons Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 240, Harrisburg, PA 17110 . Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Annville, is in charge of the arrangements.
