  LAKELAND, GA Carl D. Bixler, 77, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 31, 
  2010, at the Lewis Smith Memorial Hospital, Lakeland, Georgia. He was the 
  husband of Esther E. (Hoke) Bixler, who died February 11, 1998. Born in 
  Lebanon, on April 2, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Leah (Stohler) 
  Bixler. He had been employed at Amtrak, Lancaster, for 12 years, retiring in 
  1989. He enjoyed watching football and westerns, country music and old hymns. 
  He is survived by a daughter, Wanda, wife of Chris Davis of Annville; son, 
  George, husband of Susan Bixler of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; five great-
  grandchildren; and brother, Ronald, husband of Virginia Bixler of Harrisburg. 
  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Miller in 2010, and a brother, 
  Robert Bixler. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 
  11 a.m. from Palmyra United Zion Church, 1000 E. Oak St., Palmyra. In lieu of 
  flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes 
  Association ., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Grose 
  Funeral Home, Myerstown, in charge of arrangements.
