Boyer, Sr., 90, of 945 Duke St., died on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Spang Crest Manor. He was born on Saturday, June 21, 1919, to the late Jacob Boyer and Sallie Boyer nee Fetter in Rexmont. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He worked in the Cornwall Ore Mines for 41 years as head miner and later as a security supervisor at Bethlehem Steel. He served in World War II in Europe and was awarded a Bronze Medal and three Bronze Stars. He also served in the Korean War with 38 Inf. Regiment Has. Co. from January 1952 to July 1952 and was discharged as a Master Sergeant. He earned the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star, and Combat Inf. Badge. He was involved with the Annville American Legion as a 60 year member. Surviving are wife of 64 years, Helen Boyer nee Leaman of Lebanon; son, Paul C., Jr., spouse of Cindy Boyer of Tennessee; grandchildren, Jacob Boyer, Erich Dautel, and Joshua Boyer; sister, Agnes Eckert of Lebanon; niece, Sally Demey; and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ammon Boyer, Edwin Boyer, Abraham Boyer, and William Boyer; and sisters, Louise Corkle, Mary Walters, and Lydia Rump. Viewing will be on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Spang Crest Manor, 945 Duke St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the home. Burial will be at Ebenezer "Greenwood" Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Annville American Legion, 35 S. Manheim St., Annville, PA 17003.
