Frantz PALMYRA Catherine Elizabeth (Hoover) Frantz, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Campbelltown. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Russell "Red" Ray Frantz, on November 1, 1982. She was born Wednesday, June 1, 1914, in Harrisburg, to the late Augustus G. and Lottie May (Moyer) Hoover. She worked for Hershey Foods Company and retired as a Seamstress with Bell Mills. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, President of Ladies Bible Class for 40 years, was a Sunday School Teacher for 65 years, started the Ladies Quilting Group and served as President of 21 years, sang in the choir, was Chairperson for Worship Committee, member of Women's Missionary Society, Christian Women's Group of Hershey, Palmyra American Legion Auxiliary, Palmyra VFW Auxiliary, Palmyra Senior Citizens, Lebanon Valley College Auxiliary, and was a Gold Star MotherMothers of Harrisburg. She is survived by a niece; several nephews; and a large extended family. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Curtis R. Frantz, who was killed in Vietnam on November 21, 1969; a sister, Myrtle Bensinger; and four brothers, Charles, Ralph, Paul, and Frank Hoover. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, 17078 with the Rev. Richard A. Clark officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Monday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Bethany United Methodist Church, 20 E. Cherry St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
