Kinard, 72, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, October 18, 2011, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster. She was the wife of George W.H. Kinard, who died in 2007, and Lester Boyer, who died in 1990. Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lutz and Dorothy M. Nye Steinberger. She was a graduate of Middletown Area High School. Prior to retiring, she was employed for 36 years as a chevron winder by the former Raymark in Manheim. Following retirement, she was employed part-time by McDonald's restaurant in Manheim. Bertha was a member of Real Life Church of God in East Petersburg and Quentin Roosevelt Lions Club in Lebanon. Bertha enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She also enjoyed photography, Bob Ross painting, listening to music - especially country music, and spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Rhoda I. Fry of Manheim, with whom she resided; two sons, Lester R., husband of Sue L. Boyer of Manheim, and John C., husband of Barbara Nye of Philadelphia; three stepdaughters, Christine L., wife of James W. Hicks of York, Emma C.L. Kinard of Elizabethtown, and Sharon L.M. Kinard, partner of Kristin Deck of Elizabethtown; two stepsons, Larry G., husband of Mary Kinard of Effington, N.C., and Roy J.J., husband of Cheryl Kinard of York; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth I. Klaniecki of East Petersburg; and a foster daughter, Tamsen L. Will of Denver, Pa. She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Mae "Annie" Michael. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Real Life Church of God, 6030 Lemon St., East Petersburg, with her former pastor, Michael Nelson, officiating. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Manheim. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
