  PINE GROVE Bastiaan J. "John" Korteweg, 90, passed away in Manor Care, 
  Lebanon, on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at 3:21 a.m. He was the husband for 
  64 years of Grace E. Swanson Korteweg. He was born in Sommelsdijk, 
  Netherlands, a son of the late Korstiaan Korteweg and Cornelia Johanna Van Es. 
  Mr. Korteweg was retired from Woolworth and The Continental Insurance Company, 
  where he was a Supervising and Chief engineer in the Air Conditioning and 
  Refrigeration department. He served in the Dutch Navy for nine years, 
  including WWII during that time. He was a member of Tremont Seniors, Christian 
  men's breakfast at the Red Lion Restaurant. He was a member of the Faith 
  Baptist Church in Lebanon. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Christina Grace 
  Korteweg of Brooklyn, N.Y.; son, Philip J., husband of Libby Korteweg of 
  Chambersburg; grandchildren, Jonathan G.B. Korteweg of Valley Twp., Jeremy 
  G.K. Korteweg M.D. of Waco, Texas, Johanna G.C. Korteweg of Chambersburg, Lisa 
  Donofrio of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jeannette Donofrio of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was 
  preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. A funeral service will be 
  held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 
  Inc., 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon 17042 with his pastor, Wayne Burggraff, 
  officiating. Interment will be private in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 
  Chambersburg.
