M. shabodeho@aol.com January 28, 2011, 12:34 am Published in Lebanon Daily News on January 28, 2011 Claire J. Lundberg LEBANON Claire J. Lundberg, 55, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, in her home. She was born on March 3, 1955, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and was the daughter of Jane Warner Juppenlatz and the late John William Juppenlatz, Jr. She is a 1973 graduate of Cedar Crest High School and served as class Secretary. Claire obtained a BA in Social Work from the Pennsylvania State University in 1977 and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Following graduation, she was employed for nine years as a social worker primarily serving mentally disabled adults in Florida. Claire later returned to Lebanon as a Community Mobilizer for Communities That Care and Project Coordinator for the Drug-Free Communities Support Program. She spent many hours working to start, expand or sustain numerous programs addressing drug and alcohol awareness and prevention, particularly related to youth. Claire was very active in many community organizations, including the Cedar Crest Falcon Booster Club and Post-Prom Committee, Cedar Crest Middle School Parent-School Partners, Cornwall Elementary PTO, and the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary. She also served as the General Chairperson of the Street Fair committee for two years. She was a long-time member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Claire was an avid golfer at the Lebanon Country Club. She also enjoyed exercise classes with her friends at the YMCA, as well as reading, gardening, cooking and travel. She cherished her many friendships and was devoted to her family. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Paul Lundberg; children Eric and Kate; mother, Jane Juppenlatz; brother, Stuart Juppenlatz and his wife, Veronica; as well as two nieces and seven nephews. Claire was preceded in death by her father, "Jack' Juppenlatz; and her brother, David Juppenlatz. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on February 5, 2011, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th St, Lebanon. Friends will be received at the church from 9 until 11 a.m. A luncheon at the church will follow the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory in Annville is assisting with the arrangements.
