"Bud" Putt, 92, died on Monday, December 19, 2011, at VA Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, February 5, 1919, to the late Charles Putt and Emma Putt nee Obenstine in Lebanon. He was a member of Kochenderfer's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing, swimming and reading. Bud was the trustee, sunday school teacher, bus driver, youth leader and sexton for 48 years for the church. Bud was a veteran of the Army in World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service medal and European African Middle Eastern Medal with one Silver Service Star. Surviving are wife, Dorothy J. Putt nee Wolfe, Lebanon; son, Seth Boltz, IA; brothers Alfred Putt, Lebanon, Eugene Putt, Lebanon; sister, Lucille Shank, Manheim. He was preceded in death by brothers, Frederick Putt, Russell Putt, Charles Putt, Oscar Putt; sisters Emma Guare, Betty Zimmerman, Mae Heberling. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Kochenderfer's United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Road, Lebanon. Memorial services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. Christman's Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
