He was the husband of Josephine M. (Reich) Heagy. Born in Lebanon, on December 22, 1927, George was a son of the late George W. and Margaret (Wolfe) Heagy. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and a life member of the Senior Center in Lebanon. He was a Civil War Buff and U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. George was a former member of the Friends of Gettysburg and first scout master of the former St. Gregory's Church. He served as an advisor for the Troop of Lebanon Explorer Post. He enjoyed gardening, history and building things in his garage. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Michael Heagy and William, husband of Jill Heagy; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother and two sisters. He was preceded in death by one son, David Heagy, one daughter, Veronica "Bonnie" Heagy and six brothers. Visitation Monday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the Church of St. Cecilia, 202 E. Lehman St, Lebanon, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. 126 S. 9th St. Lebanon is entrusted with the arrangements.
