M. shabodeho@aol.com July 16, 2012, 7:12 am Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 29, 2012 LEBANON Thomas L. Pyles, 60, died suddenly in his residence on Thursday, June 28, 2012. He was born in Lebanon, on August 7, 1951, a son of Betty L. Habecker Pyles of Lebanon and the late George G. Pyles, Sr. Tom was the owner and operator of Tom Pyles Automotive for many years and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. He also volunteered at the Union Canal. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and working on old cars. He is survived by children, Lori Beachell and companion, Angie Reed of Harrisburg, Laura Pyles and companion, Chris Birk of Lebanon, Dana, wife of Bryan Lambert of Palmyra, Julia, wife of Ryan Sweigart, Rachel, wife of Andy Zellers, and Paul Miller; grandchildren, Jade, Rachel, Giamo, Jasmine, Deja, Evan, Sylvia, Henry, and Abram; brothers, George G. Pyles, Jr., Jeffry and wife, Linda Pyles, Craig and wife, Karlene Pyles; aunts and uncles; and his dog and best friend, Skipper. He was preceded in death by his son, Corey Pyles and brother: Scott Pyles. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon 17042, where a viewing will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will be made with full military honors in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Association for Down Syndrome, Wilmette, IL.
