Darling, 89, of Plains Township and Mocanaqua died Saturday morning, Oct. 16, 2010, at Keystone Garden Estates, Larksville. Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Rahl Woznock. She was educated in Swoyersville schools and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College. Along with her husband, Walter, she was the owner and operator of Walter Darling's Farm and Wholesale Florist. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township, and was past president of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Ladies of Charity and past president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Catherine was ordained as a Eucharistic Minister on Nov. 29, 1987, and was a candidate for the Carmelite Order. She was a member of the Plains Township Ambulance Association and the American Red Cross. She assisted with the Plains Township Lions Christmas Program as Mrs. Santa Claus. Catherine was very dedicated to her church, family and community and was a generous, gentle and loving woman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on Aug. 22, 1992; brothers, Robert, Andrew and Lewis Woznock; sister, Dorothy Constance. Surviving are her sister, Betty Novakowski, Mocanaqua, with whom she resided for the last eight years; sisters-in-law, Margaret Woznock, Ashley; and Madeline Woznock, Berwick; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains Township. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township; or to the charity of one's choice.
