Hazleton, Pennsylvania · Wednesday, April 23, 1958
Joseph J. Hasay, 36, Shickshinny, brother of Ann Hasay, former West Hazleton bar
and grille owner, died Sunday night at the Nanticoke State Hospital, where he
was admitted only a few hours before. He was a native of Fairmount Springs and
lived in Shickshinny most of his life. He operated a bar and grille in West
Hazleton several years ago. He and his brother, John, were partners in the
operation of the Chevrolet Garage, Shickshinny at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Marcella; three children, Joan, Mary Ann and Joseph,
Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hasay, all of Shickshinny; and the
following brothers and sisters: Andrew, Cambra, Mrs. Sophia Gobana, Bristol,
Mrs. Helen Heller, Bloomsburg, Mrs. Irene Kropiewniecki, Shickshinny RD 2, John
and Ann. The funeral will be held at 9:00 a. m. Thursday from the late residence
with mass in Church of Ascension, Mocanaqua. Interment will be in the parish
cemetery.
