Joseph "Mitty" Marcinko, a native of Wyoming Valley, died July 22 in the Laurel
(Md.) Veterans Hospital after an illness. Born in Kingston, he was the son of
the late John and Mary Podracky Marcinko. He was a graduate of Kingston High
School and King's College, Mr. Marcinko was a teacher and assistant football
coach at North Western High School, Hyattsville, Md. Surviving are his wife,
Barbara; sons, James and Thomas, at home; sisters, Mrs. Terrance (Josephine)
McKeever, Florida; Mrs. Earl (Kathryn) Bohachik, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Edward
(Margaret) Swientek, Buffalo, N.Y.: Mrs. Stanley (Agnes) Lach, Edwardsville, and
Miss Eleanor Marcinko and Miss Mary Marcinko, both of Kingston; brothers,
Thomas, Philadelphia and George, Kingston. He was preceded in death by brothers
Andrew, Michael and John. Funeral services were held in St. Nicholas Church,
Maryland. Interment was in Laurel, Md.
