Emil C. Rahl, 91, of Main Street, Luzerne, died Tuesday, March 3, 1987, at home.
Born in McAdoo, Oct. 9, 1895, he was a son of the late Ladislav and Elizabeth
Rahl. He moved to Edwardsville in 1910, then to Luzerne where he resided most of
his life. Mr. Rahl was employed by the Henry C. Johnson Co., Luzerne, for 60
years, and worked with the Johnson Family for three generations. He was a member
of St. John Nepomucene Church, Luzerne, and past president and life member of
its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Lay Order of St. Francis and
the Rosary Society, and a former member of the Auxiliary Civilian Defense
Police, Luzerne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, in 1973;
brothers, John, Robert and Alfred; sisters, Elizabeth and Anna; son-in-law. Ted
Dlugosh, on Feb. 12, 1986. Survivirg are a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Claire) Dlugosh,
with whom he resided; sisters, Helen Woznock, Mocanaqua; Nellie Ivan, Wilkes-
Barre; Tillie Phillips, Elmira, N.Y.; one granddaughter; one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Lehman Funeral Home, 281
Chapel St., Swoyersville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. John
Nepomucene Church. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wake services will be
conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Shoback, officiating. The Holy Name
Society will recite the rosary at 8 p.m.
