Emil C. Rahl, 91, of Main Street, Luzerne, died Tuesday, at home.
Born in MacAdoo, Pa., on Oct 9, 1895, he was one of nine children, the son of
the late Yadislav and Elizabeth Rahl. He moved to Edwardsville in 1910 and then
to Luzerne where he resided for most of his life. He had been employed by the
Henry C. Johnson Co., Luzerne, for 60 years, working with the Johnson family for
three generations. Mr. Rahl was a member of St. John Nepomucene Church, Luzerne;
past president and life member of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of
the lay order of St. Francis and the Rosary Society. He was a former member of
the Auxiliary Civilian Defense Police, Luzerne. He was preceded in death by his
wife Elizabeth in 1973; brothers, John, Robert and Alfred; sisters, Elizabeth
and Anna ; son-in-law, Ted Dlugosh, who died Feb. 12, 1986, with whom the
deceased resided. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Clare) Dlugosh, at home;
granddaughter; great-grandson; sisters, Helen Woznock, Mocanaqua ; Nellie Ivan,
Wilkes-Barre; Tillie Phillips, Elmira, N.Y.; nieces and nephews. Funeral will be
Saturday at 9:30 from the Lehman Funeral Home, 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville,
with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. John Nepomucene Church. Interment
will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call Friday 2 to 4
and 7 to 9. Wake service will be Friday at 2 with Rev. Edward Shoback
officiating. Holy Name will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Friday.
