Dale R. ‘Red’ Treaster

Dale R. “Red” Treaster, 97, of Milroy, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at
Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1925. the son of Merle W. and Adda K. (Pecht) Treaster  His
wife, Ruby M. (Yeater) Treaster, passed away Sept. 13, 2005.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dale was preceded in death by his siblings,
Merle “Bud” Treaster, Elizabeth “Betty” Rager, Jay Treaster, and Carl Treaster. He
was the last of his immediate family.
Surviving are: son, Dale L. Treaster of Milroy; daughter, Zoann M. Wilson of
Reedsville.  
Red was drafted during his senior year of high school in Milroy, 1944. He served in
the Army Air Corps from Feb. 1944 to April 1946, in Guam. He was discharged as a
sergeant and was given an honorary high school diploma following his return.
Interment in Birch Hill Cemetery,
