Walters, 76, of Ben Wheeler, Texas, formerly of Lewistown, left behind this earthly world on April 27, 2023, and went to be with the Lord. Norman was a dedicated husband, father, and ultimate provider to his family that he loved so much. He exhibited an incredible devotion to family that could only be appreciated by those who benefitted from his love, labor and affection. Though he is gone, the lessons this man taught through the fatherly advice he bestowed and the way he lived his life will not soon be forgotten. He honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army. After this service, he returned the family to the area to be near extended family and found employment at Standard Steel where he remained a loyal employee through layoffs and overtime for over 43 years before finally retiring. Having attained Eagle Scout, he continued to serve and encourage the youth of the area as a long-time Scout Master and occasional baseball coach. Born May 1, 1946, near Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur C. Walters and Marilyn (Lydick)(Walters) Drukemiller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy (Boreman) Walters; a brother, A. Lee Walters; and sisters, Kathy (Walters) Kraft, and Joy (Walters) Tubbs. Norman leaves behind his son Keith, and wife, Karen (Rhodes) Walters, their three children, Kendal and wife, Anna (Milne) Walters, Amy Walters, Laura (Walters) and husband, Christopher Lavery; son, Kevin and wife, Melissa, (Werner) Walters and their two sons, Logan and Tyler; son Kris and wife, Sheila (Dimmig) Walters, their six children Brooke Walters, Zane and wife, Gaylea (Weaver) Walters, Garrett and wife, Samantha (Dawson) Walters, Riley (Walters) and husband, Gabriel Randolph, Keaton Walters and Wyatt Walters; six great grandchildren Westin, Knile, Knox, Cohen, Belle, and Haven; and two surviving brothers Bryan Walters and wife, Beth, and Fred Walters. A funeral service in loving memory of Norman will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. There will be a visitation held from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Union Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mifflintown.
