* Private Co. K 2nd Maryland Potomac Home Brigade 
* Enlisted or mustered in Oct. 31, 1861 in Cumberland, Md for 3 years 
* Deserted Aug 9, 1862 at New Creek, Va. 
* List of Deserters dated Apr. 17, 1863 lists remarks: In Bukly Co. Va. 
* Muster out roll lists age as 19 
* Adjutant General's Office dated Jan. 8, 1889: The charge of desertion is 
removed and he is discharged to date Aug. 8, 1862, to complete his military 
record under the provision of the Act of Congress May 14, 86. Discharge 
furnished Jan. 21, 1884 
* Discharged or mustered out Aug. 8, 1862 
* Sergeant Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 9, 1862 at age 22 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa.
