A 88th Regiment Pa. Infantry * Drafted * Mustered in Mar. 11, 1865 at age 31 in Chambersburg, Pa. * Widow Pension: Applied Aug. 31, 1865, Application #107739, Certificate #78013 * Widow Pension lists the following: Widow - Catherine. The maiden name of Catherine was Gindlesperger. Minor children are as follows: Barbara born July 28, 1857, Elizabeth born Sept. 11, 1862 and Nancy born Mar. 12, 1865. * Valentine married Catherine on Sept. 14, 1856. Catherine was admitted July 6, 1866 for a pension of $8 per month commencing June 1, 1865. On Dec. 12, 1867 Catherine was granted a pension of $8 per month commencing June 1, 1865 and $2 per month for each child commencing. July 25, 1866. The children's pensions would stop as follows: Barbara on July 27, 1872, Elizabeth on Sept. 10, 1878 and Nancy on Mar. 11, 1881 when they reached 16 years of age.
