Aurandt, 76, died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shope, Meadville, at 8:30 o'clock, Friday, June 14. He was a resident of Meyersdale for about 60 years, and was a member of Amity Reformed Church, and choir leader there for 20 years. He was also a member of the Mens Bible Class. He was a piano and violin instructor for many years. He served also for many years as janitor of Meyersdale school buildings. Mr. Aurandt's first wife was the former Clara Askey, deceased. Emma Saylor, his second wife, died in 1944. Surviving are four children - Harry Aurandt, Jr., and Charles Aurandt, both of Akron, Ohio; Miss Katherine Aurandt of Philadelphia, and Rhea, wife of Benjamin Shope, of Meadville. He is also survived by four grandchildren. The body was brought to Meyersdale for burial in Union Cemetery, by W. C. Price & Son, funeral directors. Funeral services were held in Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor, officiating. Meyersdale Republican, June 20, 1946
