  BEATTIE
  
    John T. Beattie, 79, of Friedens, formerly of Garrett, died Nov. 6, 1985,
  at home.  Born April 19, 1906, in Aryshire, Scotland, son of Alexander and
  Deborah (Marshall) Beattie.  Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the
  former Helen Lohr, who died in 1978; and one grandchild.  Survived by these
  children:  Budd, of Baden; Mrs. Roy (Martha) Mimna, Airville, Pa., Charles,
  Berlin RD 4; Samuel, Meyersdale RD 3; Mrs. John (Deborah) Blizzard,
  Baltimore, Md.; Robert, Berlin RD 3; 18 grandchildren; and 19
  great-grandchildren; also a niece, Mrs. Deborah Gillispie, Aryshire,
  Scotland.  He was a retired coal miner and blacksmith.  Member of Kingdom
  Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses.  Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday at
  Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday,
  Brother James R. Kinner officiating.  Interment, Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
