  LENA R. BENDER
  
    Lena R. Bender, 86, of Grantsville RD 2, Md. died Wednesday, April 30,
  1986 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born in Grantsville, April 19, 1900, she was a daughter of the late
  William E. Stanton and Rebecca (VanSickle) Stanton.
    She was a retired cafeteria worker.  Her last assignments prior to
  retirement were at the Grantsville and Route 40 elementary schools.  She
  was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Ladies Guild of
  the church.
    Surviving are one son, Edgar A. Bender, with whom she resided; one
  sister, Mrs. Ellen Funk, Washington, Pa.; two grandchildren and one
  great-granddaughter.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where
  services were conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. William Borch.
    Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.
